First Principles: Understanding Universal Logic

First Principles: Understanding Universal Logic

Chapter 42 of the Tao Te Ching: “Tao gives birth to One. One gives birth to Two. Two gives birth to Three. Three gives birth to all things. All things carry yin and embrace yang. They achieve harmony by blending these energies.”

This is Lao Tzus cosmology and Eastern systems thinking at its deepest.

Modern people love studying methods, techniques, and formulas—yet rarely consider the underlying first principles. They learn much but never keep pace with change.

But Lao Tzu tells you: ten thousand changes never depart from their source. All complexity emerges from the simplest origin.

The source of all business variation is human nature. The source of all technological change is human need. The source of all lifes changes is original intention.

“Tao gives birth to One” teaches you to penetrate phenomena to see essence. Dont labor on branches and leaves—work on the root. Find that “One” and you understand all things. Find that source and you no longer fear change.

This is the power of essential thinking. In this complex age, those who see through fog to essence become true winners.
